The category that has proven a step up to Formula 1 has renewed its partnership with Hankook Tyre.

Premium tyre manufacturer Hankook marks its fourth anniversary as the official tyre supplier of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship. This year’s competition includes 33 races over 11 rounds in eight countries from April to October, 2015.

The series will feature drivers from all over the world, with up to 36 Formula 3 racing vehicles. “Keeping with our history as the premium partner of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship, Hankook has focused on the development of racing tyres exclusively tailored for the extreme Formula 3 racing conditions. Our latest racing tyres feature the ultimate top technology specifically designed according to the FIA’s technical and sporting regulations,” commented Manfred Sandbichler, Hankook Tire Motorsport Director for Europe.

As the official tyre supplier, Hankook offers its premium quality and performance-infused Formula 3 racing tyres to the most talented and up-and-coming drivers who will compete for the title of the European Champion.

The FIA Formula 3 European Championship is known as the mastery school for the best performing young drivers in the single-seater motorsport world. During the past four years, Hankook has accompanied drivers such as Max Verstappen or Carlos Sainz Junior throughout the Formula 3 series, this year both achieving their dream of progression into Formula 1. Likewise Daniel Juncadella, European F3 champion in 2012, and Pascal Wehrlein, 2012 F3 rookie of the year, are now Mercedes-Benz works drivers in the DTM series, another Hankook-shod top race series in the international motorsport world.

As part of its partnership since 2012 supporting the official FIA F3 European competition, Hankook provides two types of the further-developed Ventus racing tyres with increased potential for extreme conditions on the racetracks, with the Ventus F200 (slick), and Ventus Z207 (exclusive use on wet surfaces).

In view of the season-opening in Silverstone, Christophe Stucki, Hankook Formula 3 Race-Engineer comments: "With great expectations we look forward to the upcoming first race weekend this year. Yesterday's testing has been excellent for all drivers. The circuit in Silverstone is a great challenge due to the course of the racetrack which demands highest concentration of the drivers."

Hankook is an active participant in a number of prominent motorsports activities worldwide. This engagement offers the company an excellent platform to introduce its leading technology and premium quality products to its clients and thousands of spectators following the different championships. Hankook currently serves as the exclusive tyre supplier for a number of high profile international motorsports events such as DTM (together with Audi, BMW and Mercedes Benz), and the European 24 Hour Series, along with the Australian Formula 4 championship.
